Creative Industries CENSUS

Marketing1

Published: 16th August 2013.

Across the world, the ‘creative economy’ is talked about as an important and growing part of the global economy. Governments and creative sectors globally are increasingly recognising its importance as a generator of jobs, wealth and cultural engagement. With Cambridgeshire identified by Nesta as a creative hotspot in 2010, Creative Front was established to provide a platform for a full and remarkably diverse range of businesses to come together and find a collective voice to support, develop and champion your economic growth!

However, we are often asked for current statistics on the sector to leverage funding and investment and there is currently a lack of data to help us paint a full picture of the region’s creative industries.  To address this, we have developed a new Creative Industries Census

We are urging as many employers as possible to take part in the Census, which can be found on Questback . Any creative business based in our Local Enterprise Partnership zone can join in, and remember: if you don’t take part you can’t be counted!

Both this and forthcoming Creative Front events are supported by VIVID (Value Increase by Visual Design) a cross-border network, in which a number of leading parties in the field have joined forces to give the sector an economic boost. The Cooperation between the nine partners is aimed at combining skills in the field of visual design through the interchange of knowledge and research, promoting creative entrepreneurship and showcasing visual design to a broad public. The project is supported by the European Interreg IV A Programme “2 Mers Seas Zeeën”. For more information visit: the VIVID website
