Showcase your collection at the Milan Fashion Week!

Milan Fashion Week 2011

Published: 17th August 2011.

Are you interested in taking your fashion collection to Milan Fashion Week?

Whether you design mens or womenswear, accessories or jewellery, this is a unique opportunity to showcase your products!

Creative Front Cambridgeshire, working with the Special Interest Group for fashion and textile design Cambridge Design Collective, are looking to support five Cambridgeshire based designers to attend one of the big ‘four’ fashion weeks showcasing SS 2012 Collections in Milan.

Taking part in overseas exhibitions is an effective way for you to market your products, test markets, attract customers, appoint agents or distributors and make sales. This package offers you an opportunity to attend Milan Fashion Week whilst building your knowledge and experience of international trade. Participating as a group of companies from Cambridgeshire offers great advantage for inexperienced businesses.

The package includes:

  1. A pre-event Virtual Market Briefing from Milan UKTI staff
  2. An opportunity to present your collection as part of Corteggiando fashion event, alongside designers from Italy, Spain, Austria and Germany to audience of international buyers, retailers and journalists
  3. A unique networking event and evening reception which organised by Corteggiando to help you make contacts and further your business
  4. Financial assistance* of up to £1000 to cover costs to attend Milan Fashion Week {specifically for Corteggiando fashion event on 20th September}
  5. A two day workshop in Cambridge on international trade to help you take your business global
  6. The opportunity to take part in a Post-event Virtual Creative Lab - explore potential collaboration or partnership working with Italian designers beyond the trade mission

If you are interested in applying please send 5-8 images (high resolution jpegs) and a CV / Biog / Statement about your business and work (and if possible price list or price guideline) and a short statement (max 300 words) about why this experience would benefit you. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed following the initial selection process and if selected will be given guidance about the preparation of their collections for the visit.

How the financial assistance* works

Working with the UKTI Passport 2 Export (P2E) scheme, we are able to offer you;

  • Pre-event Virtual Market Briefing
