Technology Strategy Board

Published: 29th April 2014.

These competitions are a unique opportunity for innovative technology-enabled businesses working across the creative, design and digital economy sectors and we want to ensure as many as possible in the Uk are targeted.

Working in partnership with the Knowledge Transfer Network, the Technology Strategy Board will be running briefing events in May in London, Manchester & Bristol.

The Technology Strategy Board is to invest up to £5m in projects that stimulate innovation in the UK location-based services sector.

The aim of this competition is to support projects that capitalise on the increasing accuracy, coverage and speed of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) such as GPS and other non-satellite technologies such as iBeacon, Wi-Fi and radio frequency identification (RFID) to build innovative location-based services or improve existing services through user-centred design. (Further details available here.

The Technology Strategy Board is to invest up to £2.5m in projects that will explore ways of enhancing the value of consumers' interaction with content. This competition aims to support businesses to enhance the value that could be derived from their digital assets.

The Technology Strategy Board is hoping to attract digital businesses, with expertise in data analytics, security, payments, and the creation of value from data and digital assets, together with businesses that engage with customers through Internet and mobile service channels.
