Cambridge Original Printmakers - a first for Cambridge!
A new independent and innovative exhibiting group showcasing 41 invited Printmakers based within 30 miles of Cambridge city centre. Several internationally acclaimed Printmakers will be there including Charlotte Cornish, Ross Loveday, Geri Waddington and Andy English. The three founders, Susan Jones, Anthony Hopkinson and Jo Tunmer are also showcasing new emerging Printmakers such as Susie Johnson, Emma James and Nina Sage.
In addition to the 9 day exhibition where all work will be for sale, several exhibitors will be holding free demonstrations.To find out more please visit cambridgeoriginalprintmakers.com.
There will also be a series of free talks during the two weekends from prominent UK Printmakers, these include:
Master Printmaker Stanley Jones who has worked with artists such as Hockney, Hepworth and Moore throughout his career; Carry Akroyd who is exhibiting at Cambridge Contemporary Art in Trinity Street and is kindly taking time out from her exhibition to talk about the sources of her imagery; Chloë Cheese will be talking about her work and her mother’s influences, wood cutters and engravers Geri Waddington and Andy English will be speaking and Cambridge-based Master Printmakers Kip Gresham and James Hill will also be talking about their various printmaking techniques. The three internationally recognized Print Houses that are based around Cambridge – Kip Gresham Editions, St Barnabas Press, and the Curwen Print Study Centre will also be showcasing their printmaking classes, print editioning and studio facilities throughout the event.
