Kettle's Yard: Looking Ahead
Kettle's Yard will shortly be undergoing a major redevelopment - Kettle's Yard: Looking Ahead. The project will create a new Education Wing, environmentally controlled galleries and better services for visitors, including a café.
Sunday 21st June 2015 is the last day that Kettle's Yard house and gallery are open to the public. Don't miss your last chance to visit, at the moment you can see the New Rhythms exhibition in the gallery, a number of displays in the house and an installation in St.Peter's Church next door.
The redevelopment aims to transform the work done with school groups and young people, enable the organisation of exhibitions with major artists from around the world, display 20th century art in the right conditions, and create the facilities to encourage even more people to enjoy all that Kettle's Yard has to offer.
The development is expected to take around two years starting on 22 June. During the closure period there will be displays of their collection at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and the Jerwood Gallery in Hastings. A three-year creative collaboration in North Cambridge called the Open House project will also see Kettle's Yard working closely with the local community and artists. The chamber music series will continue in another venue.
