Open Cambridge is an annual weekend in September, during which Cambridge throws open its doors so that local people can enjoy and walk through its beautiful gardens and historic buildings.
It is a unique opportunity to celebrate Cambridge’s history, discover its architectural treasures, and enjoy a wide range of tours, talks and exhibitions highlighting aspects of the City’s history and cultural offerings.
The next Open Cambridge will take place on 11 - 14th September 2014, and promises to be even bigger and better than last year!
The annual Bridge the Gap charity walk takes place on Sunday of the Open Cambridge weekend. The five-mile walk raises funds in support of local charities Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Press Relief, while giving local people the opportunity to discover and explore the majestic architecture, historic grounds and peaceful gardens of the Colleges and University grounds.
The 2013 route featured Magdalene, St John’s, Clare, King’s, St Catharine’s, Pembroke, Downing, Emmanuel, and Jesus Colleges, as well as the Polar Museum, which will open its doors especially for the day.
