Stitch Links Exhibition
An exhibition which showcases the work of talented textile artists is now open.
Textile artists from across the region - and London - are exhibiting in the ‘Stitch Links - Continuum’ event at Ely’s Babylon Gallery.
The exhibition, which opened at the gallery, in Waterside, on Saturday, features the work of Liz Hunter, Marilyn Carter, Sheila Cahn, Mara Lindemann and Maggie Paykel.
In tribute to Stick Links’ founder member, Heather Hunter, who died last year, members will also be displaying some of her stunning work.
The artists are working together as an collective to produce contemporary work to reflect modern society. The exhibition is called 'Reworking the Image', although the artists are working collectively; their styles reflect versatility and stems from a variety of disciplines.
In addition to the displayed work, there is an eye catching collection of cushions and other small textile items for sale in the gallery shop which have been specifically designed for the show.
The exhibition is open everyday, except Mondays, from 12-4pm and is running until Sunday, May 25.
Entry is free although donations are welcome.
