Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Creative Front supports a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which reflect the specific needs and agendas of the creative industries’ sub-sectors in Cambridgeshire. These might be specific to a sub-sector or a cross-discipline business agenda.

Members can join as many SIGs as they’re interested in, exchanging views and joining the debate affecting their industry at events. And if there isn't a SIG to meet your needs, let us know and we can help you create one!

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Copyright SIG, run by CaMedia

CaMedia is a society for professionals working in media and other creative and cultural industries in Cambridgeshire, UK. The group’s main focus is on creative entrepreneurship, investigating ways to build sustainable businesses and professional skills in keeping with the visions of those who create content in the various mediums or those who run them.

Intellectual property, particularly copyright, trademarks and design rights have been identified as common assets to all businesses, whether they are a one-artist enterprise or a small to medium-sized company. Speaker meetings and discussion groups are therefore directed around the theme of intellectual property management and other important revenue generating aspects such as marketing, business models, funding etc. Plain old socialising is at the heart of CaMedia’s activities; we encourage relaxed meetings and don’t always have to have something on the agenda to get together as ideas are ever-flowing!

Photography SIG, run by Cambridge Darkroom

Cambridge Darkroom is more than just a camera club. Whether you’re a passionate amateur snapper, seasoned photographer or a bigger company involved in something photographic, you’ll find the Cambridge Darkroom meet-ups a great place to meet like-minded people. They aim to inspire, to share, to discuss and to seek out opportunities that make us all a creative force to be reckoned with!
