Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Creative Front supports a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which reflect the specific needs and agendas of the creative industries’ sub-sectors in Cambridgeshire– these might be specific to a sub-sector or a cross-discipline business agenda.

Social Events, run by CamCreative
Here at Creative Front, we are thrilled to be working with CamCreative as a social events partner. Their meet-ups happen once a month and are always busy, lively and above all informal events (no hardcore networking here!), featuring a speaker giving a talk on a creative topic (usually around 20 mins) followed by the opportunity for Q&A and then to mingle and chat.

Computer Games SIG, run by Games Eden
Games Eden is the business network portal for the East of England's computer games industry. As the industry extends its economic, social and cultural impact, Games Eden stimulates electronic creativity and business development. Games Eden provides communication and disseminates information for the East of England's games development industry. It promotes the region's reputation through championing achievements, sharing knowledge and developing skills. Games Eden leads the Creative Front Cambridgeshire Computer Games SIG.

Fashion & Textile Design SIG, run by Cambridge Design Collective
Cambridge Design Collective is an independent and vibrant fashion-focused collective of designers, models, photographers, illustrators, hair and make up stylists, filmmakers, visual artists, fashion writers, journalists, independent retailers and those with an interest in these areas. Cambridge Design Collective leads the Creative Front Cambridgeshire Fashion & Textiles SIG.

Film, TV and Audiovisual, run by Wired
Wired runs a series of screenings, seminars, Q&As and workshops with film and television students, graduates and industry professionals organised by Cambridge School of Art.

Industrial Design Cambridge, run by ID Cambs

Following the success of Design Icons: Cambridge Innovation Festival, a group of product and industrial designers formed ID Cambs which works to raise the profile of product design in Cambridgeshire as Creative Front’s Industrial Design SIG.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Copyright SIG, run by CaMedia
Camedia is a society for people working in media and creative industries in and around Cambridge. Camedia is primarily a “real world” organisation based on speaker meetings, discussion groups, and just plain socialising.

Photography SIG, run by Cambridge Darkroom
We'd like to make Cambridge Darkroom more than just a camera club. We truly believe that when people with a common interest group together, they can achieve great things. The group meet on the last Thursday of every month in The Fountain Pub, Cambridge.

Publishing SIG, run by Campus Campus, the Cambridge Publishing Society, provides publishing and bookselling professionals with a forum to share knowledge and network in a welcoming environment. It facilitate and encourage the sharing of the latest publishing ideas and information between its members, provide access to good quality speakers from the publishing industry and provides a platform for the networking of publishing professionals. The society advocates good practice and is a voice for the publishing industry in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

Web Design & Development SIG, run by CamRefresh
Refresh Cambridge is a community of designers and developers working to refresh the creative, technical, and professional culture of New Media endeavours in their areas.

We believe that becoming active in local SIGs helps you make new contacts, exchange views and join the debate affecting your industry at events and via social networking. See below details on forthcoming SIG events and try them out! If you have an event that you’d like us to promote, please email
